What is Enterprise Wise
Enterprise Wise (e-wise) is an innovative and rigorous independent learning programme which develops enterprising behaviour in students. It is a structured learning programme designed to be fully inclusive to students of all abilities. e-wise instills the instincts of enterprise in young people through a dynamic scheme of work which rehearses students in a schedule of fun-filled learning activities. This is a learning programme developing life skills, not a business-oriented activity.
The programme heightens the awareness in young people of the characteristics of enterprise which they will need to succeed in all areas of life. e-wise energises the skills of enterprise in young people enabling teachers to track their improved performance in all subject areas.
The programme also achieves the Continuous Professional Development objective of giving teachers the capability to become more effective teachers of enterprise and to embed the theme of enterprise across the curriculum. e-wise supplies a toolkit of materials centred on a Director’s Manual (used by teachers) which provides:
- The framework to enable teachers to become enterprise specialists
- Clear structure to the content of all programme sessions
- Clear guidelines outlining the complete process to deliver Enterprise Education
- Lively, fun-filled scenarios and exercises
- Ideas, examples, games and concepts to illustrate the theme of enterprise
- Activities which demonstrate that learning and gaining knowledge can be fun
- An evidence checklist to show development in enterprise capability

- e-wise develops independent, self-confident communicators
- e-wise meets fully, the statutory requirement for Enterprise Education and provides the full entitlement of 30 hours’ learning
